An industrial filter press is a highly engineered piece of equipment designed for efficient solid-liquid separation. However, it cannot be used immediately after purchase. To ensure proper function and safety, the equipment must undergo a careful installation and debugging process before entering active service.
At N M Patel & Co., one of the most trusted filter press manufacturers in Gujarat, we understand how critical it is to get the setup process right. This guide outlines key precautions, installation instructions, and debugging procedures to help your team achieve optimal performance from your filter press system.
Proper installation is the key to achieving long-term, efficient operation. Here are the essential steps to follow:
The filter press must be placed horizontally on a concrete base. Secondary blockwork is recommended for enhanced stability.
Ensure a clear 1-meter-wide passage around the press to facilitate cake discharge and maintenance.
Verify that all bolts are securely fastened.
Filter plates should be correctly aligned, and in the case of open-flow designs, the nozzles must be fixed at the lower end and locked.
If your filter press includes a liquid receiving disk or turning plate, elevate the base to provide space for proper installation.
Ensure plates are evenly placed with no inclination.
The filter cloth must be clean, flat, and free of folds to prevent leakage.
Cloth clampers should be properly tightened to seal the fabric against the feed inlet.
Position the hydraulic station away from the discharging area to avoid falling materials that could interfere with its operation.
Confirm that oil pipelines are securely connected and the oil tank is clean.
Ensure the 3-phase electric power is installed correctly, and that the hydraulic motor runs clockwise.
Install the press away from moisture, corrosive chemicals, rain, and direct sunlight.
Perform a final check of filtering components and pipelines to ensure compliance with process requirements.
After installation, debugging is essential to ensure the system performs reliably under working conditions.
Confirm all fasteners, circuits, and pipelines are properly installed and operational.
Inspect all driving parts and verify smooth movement.
Check that filter cloths are flat and correctly mounted.
Only trained operators familiar with the equipment should perform debugging or start the press.
If any unusual noise, leakage, vibration, or malfunction occurs, immediately shut down the machine and investigate the cause.
Never operate the filter press under excessively high feeding pressure or tamper with the relief valve settings.
Do not perform maintenance or inspections during operation.
Always use high-quality filter cloths that are compatible with your slurry type to ensure clear filtrate output.
